“For the sake of the rose, we must water the thorns.” – African Proverb
I hold this truth close in my work as a counselor. I believe healing requires tending to both the beauty and the pain with compassion and care. We all need a space where we can be raw, vulnerable, and empowered in our healing journey—a place where we can bring our whole selves, the messy included, without fear of judgment.
My journey into counseling has been shaped by my passion for social justice, advocacy, and creating spaces where people feel seen and heard. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Counseling at Northwestern University, with clinical interests in working with adults, particularly members of the BIPOC community and survivors of sexual violence. My approach is empathetic and collaborative, we make the work fit you and not the other way around. I believe healing isn’t about measuring up to society’s standards—it’s about defining what “better” looks like on your own terms and moving toward that with honesty and care.
If shame dies when stories are told in safe places, then my hope is to offer you that space—one where your story is honored, your voice is heard, and your healing is your own.
